Before uploading your photo to the root directory of your site. Make sure that your photo is less than 100kb. If not, visit compress images or iloveimg for compression.
If you encounter this error "This file is too large. You can upload a file up to 100kb in size" you need to convert your photo to a 16 x 16 Favicon size at favicon - generator.
For the Legacy Blogger, here's how you change your Blogger default Favicon.
1. Go to your Blogger Legacy Dashboard > Layout > Favicon > Edit.
2. After clicking "Edit" Configure Favicon window will open > Choose your less than 100kb photo > Then click Save.
3. Refresh your blog. If you are still seeing the default Blogger Favicon in your browser's tab you need to refresh the Favicon here https://vdbzone.blogspot.com/favicon.ico (Replace vdbzone with your blog name in the URL) then press CTRL+F5 for Windows or CMD+F5 for MAC, if your own Favicon is showing now in that URL it means you are successful.
For the New Blogger, here's how you change your Blogger default Favicon.
1. Go to your New Blogger Dashboard > Settings > Favicon.
2. After clicking "Favicon" Configure Favicon window will open > Choose your less than 100kb photo > Then click Save.
3. If you are still seeing the default Blogger Favicon in your browser's tab you need to refresh the Favicon by following step #3 above.
