For those who have not yet know, Google My Business rolled out a new feature called Google My Business short name and URL in April 2019. Each user who has a verified Google My Business listing can create a short name and URL, which is essentially a URL link to their Google My Business Listing profile, along with a link to the listing’s reviews. If you have not yet claimed a short name for your Google My Business listing then now is the time to claim because if you don’t act now your competitors might use the short name you preferred to their advantage. The benefits of having a short name for your Google My Business listing will not only help you in sharing it to be accessible to your potential customers but will also help you to get more reviews, easy to remember, you can place the link on your social media pages, business cards, and any other places where your business is listed.

Creating a short name and URL for your Google My Business Listing is very easy just follow the below instructions from Google My Business Help:

Using Computer

1. On your computer, sign in to Google My Business.

2. Open the location that you want to create a short name for.

3. From the menu, click Info > Add short name.

4. Enter your short name. You can enter up to 32 characters.

If your name isn’t available, you’ll receive an error message and have to choose a different name. Try abbreviating your name or adding other descriptions, like your location. You can also pick another word that describes your business or brand.

5. Click Apply. Your short name will show as pending, and when it’s ready, it’ll show on your Business Profile.

Using Android

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google My Business app.

2. Tap Profile > Add profile short name.

3. Enter your short name. You can enter up to 32 characters.

If your name isn’t available, you’ll receive an error message and have to choose a different name. Try abbreviating your name or adding other descriptions, like your location. You can also pick another word that describes your business or brand.

4. Tap Save. Your short name will show as pending, and when it’s ready, it’ll show on your Business Profile.

Using iPhone & iPad
